Save money using your B+W laser printer
Thursday, January 08, 2009

Are you looking to save money on printing? You are open-minded about your printing options? Black and white laser printing may be the perfect solution for you. Laser printers have come down in price over the last few years and more of us have access to them. The average black and white laser print from a copy shop costs $.10 a side. This equals a huge savings and maybe more money for the honeymoon!
NOTE: Some laser printers will have a hard time with thicker paper. Always test the printer before you get too excited. If your printer is screaming "NO" then take it to a copy shop - they will have a better time printing on larger printers.
Black and white themed weddings are very popular and it sets the tone for a classical romantic evening. Many of our designs can be converted to black and white. Then add your pop of color by using different ribbons, stamps, gems, layering it on colored paper or keep it simple - black and white.

Our First DIY Bride Speaks!
Wednesday, January 07, 2009

Alex a DIY bride from Michigan was generous enough to mail us a sample of her invitation so we could photograph it. She ordered #07 love birds in reds and blues. Here is what she said about her experience.
Hey Ladies and DIY Brides,
I really enjoyed making my invitations! The printing took a few days to complete. We (my man and I) did it over a weekend while watching movies. (one boy movie then one girl movie... lots of fun!) I ended up purchasing blue diagonal folders and envelopes from Paper Source to enhance my wedding invites. They were 10 folders for $10.25 and the more I purchased the cheaper they got. I also used a red ribbon to wrap around the folder and a circle punch to punch out the birds for a hanging tag. My hubby helped me with that on the computer. He cropped the pdf and then put tons all over a page for me to punch.
I did have my girlfriends over to help craft and corner round the invitations. I already had a paper cutter so we went pretty fast. Thanks again Kari for your extra corner rounder and cheese cake!
Thanks again Ladies for all your wonderful tips and shopping locations!!!
Love,
Alexandria Meris
